1. Cut away any branches that are diseased, damaged, or dead. To remove any branches that are in bad condition, you can use either long-handled pruners or a pruning saw.
2. Select the Principal Branches, and Cut Off the Rest
3. Cut Back the Tall Branches
4. Take out the interior branches that are weak and spindly
5. Reduce the Number of Remaining Red Shoots
6. Create a Strategy for Future Expansion
